The Child I.D. Program is coordinated through the police department's Volunteer In Police Service (VIPS) unit. Through the child Identification program, vital information is collected on children ages twelve and under. Information such as physical description (height, weight, hair & eye color, etc.) along with a still photo are collected and provided to the parent or guardian. The child is also fingerprinted at this time. The child ID card is given to the parent or guardian for safe keeping.
