The Water Treatment Process

The City of Independence Water Department owns and operates the Courtney Bend Water Treatment Plant. The plant is named after the Courtney Bend in the Missouri River as it is located very close to that bend. The plant receives its water from 38 wells located along the banks of the Missouri River and softens and disinfects the water through the following process.
