Independence Public Works

The Mission of the Public Works Department is to provide the necessary training and resources to its employees that allows them to provide services to the City's residents accurately, timely, in a professional manner, compliant with current codes, and in a responsive manner that leads to customer satisfaction.

The vision of the Public Works Department is to see that its efforts result in improved public streets, storm sewers, sanitary sewers, bridges, rights of way, public buildings, solid waste removal, and traffic safety; providing convenience, safety, and comfort to the users of public infrastructure.



TIGER Grant Application
The City of Independence is applying for additional American Reivestment and Recovery Act funds.

New online permit system for the acquisition of right-of-way permits.
