Independence Power & Light, in partnership with area KC metro gas and electric utilities, is working with the Kansas City Metropolitan Energy Center (MEC) to provide residents with a local source to get answers to technical questions regarding energy efficiency in homes. A phone number, 835-7593, has been established which is answered by MEC staff. Anyone in the Greater Kansas City area can call this phone number and talk to an energy expert. Residents can get answers to technical questions on subjects such as home insulation, heating and cooling equipment, energy saving technologies and renewable energy. There is no charge to callers for the use of this service.
