Roger T. Sermon Community Center

Located on the southeast corner of Truman and Noland roads in Independence, The Roger T. Sermon Community Center offers a wide variety of social activities and health related opportunities. Twelve clubs meet on a regular basis at the facility, as well as numerous outside organizations. There is a wide variety of rental space available in the facility including, Four meeting rooms, a gymnasium, lobby area, and theatre. The building can accommodate small groups or large receptions for 500. A weight room,game room and gymnasium are also available for different classes, programs and open play. Monday through Saturday	8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Sunday	12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Gymnasium:	Check schedule daily
Weight Room:	Closes 15 minutes prior to facility
Game Room:	Closes 15 minutes prior to facility

Building Rules

• Membership is required to check out any equipment.
• Children under 13 are not allowed in the building without adult supervision.
• No loitering.
• The weight room is available to members 16 & 17 with parental permission and all other members over 17.
• No profanity.

Dress Code

• Facility visitors are expected to dress in appropriate attire for a family community center.
• Open gym users are not allowed to wear baggy clothing that might cause injury to themselves or others.
• Shirt and appropriate shoes are required at all times.

Memberships
Available for persons 13 and over, memberships to the Sermon Center allow access to the weight room (age 16 and over), game room and gymnasium. Memberships are good for one year from the date of purchase. Members are allowed one guest per visit, with a guest fee and proper state or school issued picture identification. Guests are not allowed to check out equipment for the weight room or the billiard tables in the game room.

Weight Room
Only members 16 and older are allowed to use the Weight Room. (Members age 16 & 17 with parental permission only.)

Locker rooms with showers are adjacent to the weight rooms. Only members are allowed to check out and use the equipment in the Weight Room. Locks are not provided. Personnel locks must be removed when member leaves.
