Independence Parks Matching Grant Program

In an attempt to cooperatively assist those groups and individuals interested in improving facilities throughout our park system, the City of Independence has developed a matching grant program for park-related improvements. In the first five years of the program, a total of 14 different projects have been funded, including playground improvements, athletic field renovation, walking trail installation, and park tree planting. Please contact the Parks Administration office at 325-7360 for further information concerning this "win-win" program for the community or to obtain an application form. As always, we welcome your ideas on how to further improve your Independence park system.
