Independence Law Department
	The Law Department represents the City and its elected officials in all civil (non-criminal) matters, as well as providing a wide range of legal services for City officials and departments. In addition, the Law Department prosecutes misdemeanor, gross misdemeanor and petty misdemeanor crimes.
