On behalf of the nearly 300 men and women of the Independence Police Department, it is my pleasure to welcome you to our Web site. The Web site will provide you with an overview of the diverse activities we are involved in, as well as the many types of services and programs provided to our community.

It is equally important that our community realizes that effective and efficient law enforcement can only occur when those who have made the commitment to serve are provided support and encouragement to fulfill these responsibilities. Also, that you share in our belief that together we can and will make a difference.
