Description

Vacation Full-time employees accumulate vacation as follows:
0 - 5 yrs = 80hrs./yr.
5 - 10 yrs = 120 hrs./yr.
10 - 15 yrs = 160 hrs./yr.
15 + yrs = 200 hrs./yr.
Holidays 12 paid holidays
Personal Business Leave Personal business leave - 2 hrs. month.
Sick Leave 8 hours per month.  Up to 1040 hrs upon separation
Health Insurance 2 health insurance plans - 1 PPO and 1 HMO. City pays 86% of premium.
Dental Insurance 2 dental insurance plans. The City pays 100% of basic coverage.
Life/Accidental Death and Dismemberment City paid term life insurance equal to employee's annual salary. Accidental death and dismemberment insurance = 2 X employee's annual salary. Spouse and children coverage available at employee's cost.
Long Term Disability Long term disability insurance - City provides for 24 months of coverage. Plan pays 60% of income when employee is totally disabled beyond 180 days. Employees may purchase additional coverage.
401(A) Defined Contribution Plan All non-union regular full-time employees. Receive 1% of base salary. Contributions to be made at each pay period. Fully vested in 5 years.
Section 125 Flexible Benefit Plan Pre-tax earnings for health and dental insurance premiums, uncovered medical and dental expenses, and dependent care expenses
Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Confidential, short-term counseling services for employees and eligible dependents
Longevity pay 1/2% annually up to 30 years of service, or in accordance with Work Agreements
Tuition Reimbursement Up to 50% of the tuition reimbursed for a maximum of six credit hours per semester or quarter
Section 457 Deferred Compensation Plan The employee defers a portion of salary before taxes. 2 Plans
State Retirement Plan (LAGERS) Retirement age is 60 for general employees and 55 for Public Safety employees. Early retirement - up to 5 years prior to retirement age
Credit Union Services include payroll deduction, checking and savings accounts, and favorable loan rates.
Bereavement Leave 3 to 5 working days, paid
Parking Free parking
Social Security Contributions to Social Security are matched on the employee's behalf.
Direct Deposit Pay checks directly deposited to financial institution of employee's choice
Retirement Benefits Liberal Health Coverage for Retirees
Workers' Compensation 80% of gross pay or comparable net pay for up to 30 weeks or 52 weeks for Public Safety personnel, of injury leave.
