Our Mission:
We are here to act in services and strive to protect the health, saftey, and welfare
of the animals and people of the City of Independence.
Things We Need:
- We always need unfolded / flattened paper (for the animal cages - please do not
send colored advertisements or advertisments with the slick coating on them as these
are not good for the animals),
- Clorox,
- Paper Towels,
- Squeegees for cleaning kennels,
- towels
for bathing,
- and Kong toys for the dogs.

Adopting A Friend
- Kittens / Cats: vary from $20. to $95.
- Puppies / Adults: vary from $30. to $105.
All animals are spayed / neutered, given one set of shots, micro-chipped and wormed
before leaving the shelter. Dogs are heartworm tested. Cats are Feline Leukemia
and Feline Aids tested.
Why Spay or Nueter?
An unneutered / unspayed pet will stray / jump fences, be difficult to train, can
become aggressive, and may eventually be a liability.
