On October 25, 2008
The goal is to reach the city's citizens that need help with spaying/neutering their pets and decrease the population of unwanted pets found in the Independence Animal Shelter.
Cats - $55.00
Dogs under 50 lbs - $60.00
Dogs 50 lbs - 100 lbs - $80.00
includes microchip and rabies vaccination.

If you must give your pet up for any reason, please do not run a "Free to Good Home Ad" in the paper. Unscrupulous dog and cat dealers get animals this way and sell them to research. Always get and check references. Find out if they have had pets in the past and if so who their veterinarian was; then call that veterinarian.
