The Emergency Preparedness Division (EP) provides training which promotes effective and efficient emergency response service to the community. This Division also provides coordination of emergency management functions within the City including preparedness, response, mitigation and recovery from any disastrous events. This Division is staffed by a one part time Administrative Specialist II and an Emergency Preparedness Manager.

One goal of the Emergency Preparedness Division is to offer training for the citizen through CERT (Citizens Emergency Response Training). It is the mission of EP to prepare people throughout the city to be able to respond on the front lines in the event of a disaster. Information concerning 72 hour kits for home preparedness, severe storm training,  Family Safety Guides and other helpful tips can be obtained from EP. Presentations to neighborhood groups, PTAs, church groups or any other group interested should contact this division.
